I would loooooove a period break. My periods are so bad that I'm getting a hysterectomy and a day where I can just say "i cant come in uterus" would be great, especially if it was like paid sick leave but even without pay I'd be happy that i could just say not today

Two things, life expectancy data from the past is skewed by high infant and child mortality. Also as an older Mum, (first child at 34 and second at 40), whilst I personally didn't have issues with fertility, I did experience higher risks of complication during pregnancy and birth, particularly with my first pregnancy where I developed pre-eclampsia and haemorrhage. I also opted for additional screening for genetic conditions as there is a greater likelihood associated with maternal age.

I consider myself part of LGBTQ+ because I'm asexual, but don't consider myself queer, I mean, I'm just a cis woman that happens to not feel sexual attraction. I doesn't feel right to say I'm queer.

Female facial hair needs to be more normalisedI am well into perimenopause, and I have always had a lot of peach fuzz but now I literally have strawberry blond mutton chops/sideburns and am developing a mustache. So I do remove the hair in those areas. I also randomly started getting really long eyebrows a while ago. The joys of aging!

I remember about a decade ago evolutionary biologists posited that people became attracted to boobs when we started walking upright because they reminded us of the backside which had been our previous focus when we weren’t walking upright. As a child of a anonymous doner I can say that it would have been better if my biological father had somewhat of a role in my life. BUT that mostly comes from problems between my mothers(divorce) and brother(a-hole). So I agree as a person with some personal knowledge about this I can definitely say that OP is definitely not the drama

On the situation with OP and the mom: I think the mother did not know at 29 how to regulate their emotions and that she therefore probably did not have taught her child. I come from a similar home situation and I genuinly believe that firstly, they need to go and talk, definitely with a mediator, preferable a therapist. There is no trust between these two and it should be build up again if they want to be in each others life. I did manage to build up trust again with my mother and am trying the same thing with my father. In my eyes everybody sucks here. Even when or if mom learned to regulate their emotions, she would have had any chance to sit down with OP and have the heart to heart.

The last one. I needed that. Most of my friendships have ended cause of distance and the fact that we dont make the effort to message eachother. It mutually ends. Now im adult im sticking around in a place. I had family help someone into my job and directed them to me for friendship. I was kind and they basiclaly attached to me. But its a one way friendship. I dont contibute cause i dont want the friendship. They arent a bad person. They are perfectly fine and friendly and nice. I just dont feel any joy around them, i actually just feel exguasted. Im happy to be work friends. Ya know eat lunch and talk at work but otger then that i cant do it. Talking to them make me so tired and i have narcolepsy. I constantly try to avoid things that exgurate how tired i am. I feel like those parents getting mad at the sister are basically guaranteeing she's not going to look after their kids again. It's great to have your kids have good, healthy interactions with adults that aren't family. It helps protect them from inappropriate relationships. Totally agree with Shaaba saying about how trying to make sense of something that doesn't make sense, and it doesn't make sense because you're not getting the whole picture. My mum and I are super close, and my partner always comes and hangs out with me and my mum. In fact, he even went to a movie with my mum without me, because I didn't want to watch it, and I think that's so cute. The aunts sound bitter and wanting to stir the pot. Totally agree with Shaaba and Jamie with the name one. I have two middle names, it's fine. You learn your letters faster because you have to remember more. I think its a boon to little Lara to have two names.

I had my furkids and they were enough work for me. So, therefore, I decided I didn't want them anymore. After a life of *really l, really* wanting them and even ending relationships with people who didn't, to absolutely no thank you. Wild.

I didn't realise until my mid 20s that I even had endometerosis. I thought that that amount of pain and bl00d was what a period was meant to be like, etc. Changing underwear 3 or 4 times a night and having to sleep on a towel to stop leaking on the bed, leaks at school or work and the pain so bad that I could barely wall due to referred back pain. Also, my stomach bloated so big that 1 of my bosses thought I was sticking it out on purpose. And I was like, nope, this massive pot belly is period bloat. I finally saw a Gyno who was very versed in this and straight away on symptoms alone knew what I had. He referred me to his surgeon friend (as he himself was almost retiring age and didn't do surgery anymore) and I had a lap. But not just day surgery like most. I was in for over 2 days. My uterus was actually attached to my bowel wall. It was so bad that the surgeon was gobsmacked. He asked how I even coped with the pain this likely caused. I again said, "I just thought that as you get bad cramps and can have very heavy flows, that it was just *my* period." I was in a lot of pain for over several weeks post op and couldn't wear even granny knickers until 2 weeks had passed. Luckily though, this meant my little sister of over 5 years younger, be booked in for a laparoscopy asap. She also had it but not as bad of course. Thankfully, our surgeon excises the endo and doesn't laser. So no scarring or further issues from that day. On top, he increased our fertility to "normal levels" as well. So we could have squishes if we desired to. I'm 40 now and on a certain "pill" for various reasons. But I still don't enjoy my period and do feel quite crappy around that time. And the PMS. Ugh.

I agree with you criticism of the boob size graph, but as a concept, I don't have an issue with it because I've seen penis size graphs. My mom used term "vulva" when I was a kid, but until very recently, I never really heard anyone else say it (and I'm more likely to just use "crotch.")
